Show Wales love on St Dwynwen’s Day

St Dwynwen’s Day – the Welsh equivalent to Valentine’s Day – is all about showing and celebrating love.

We fell in love with a vision of a beautiful Wales that is cared for and enjoyed by everybody. We are dedicated to our Caru Cymru (‘Love Wales’) movement to inspire everyone to take action and care for our environment.

Today we are not just showing our love to Wales, but celebrating all volunteers, community groups, businesses, and everyone who joined us in our mission.

In 2022…

Our army of Litter Champions reached 1313. They went above and beyond and carried out 7,100 clean-ups and collected 13,550 bags of litter and recycling.

Our network of Litter Picking Hubs expanded, 184 are now open across Wales to support your activities on the ground.

More than 17,000 of our volunteers took part in 446 Spring Clean Cymru and Marine Clean Cymru events across the country to keep Wales beautiful.

We supported 460 community groups who dedicated 35,550 hours to carry out 2425 activities to improve green spaces across Wales.

300+ businesses and organisations of all shapes and sizes got involved in our brand-new scheme Litter Free Zones and pledged to provide their community with an area that is loved and cared for.

By everybody working together towards a clean and safe environment, we can build healthier, stronger communities and make a positive difference to our planet this St Dwynwen’s Day and each day of the year.

Would you like to show Wales some love too? Join our Caru Cymru movement and take part in Spring Clean Cymru between 17 March and 2 April 2023!
