We were recently notified by our broker that the insurance company’s compliance team were unhappy with the proposed structure of the Keep Wales Tidy scheme. The result of this is that we are unable to continue with our current community group insurance scheme.
We have been unable to find a solution which will meet your needs at a cost lower than that at which you can purchase as individual stand-alone groups. So, we must now recommend that you look to source your insurance directly. This will enable you to purchase cover which is both less expensive, offers more cover and is simpler to manage than Keep Wales Tidy is able to secure on your behalf.
While there may be several options available to you, we believe that the scheme offered by www.zurich.co.uk/charity-insurance may be of particular interest. If you do decide to follow the link above, please ensure their offering is relevant and sufficient for your needs. We cannot assure you of its suitability.
We recognise that this news is disappointing but please be re-assured that we are already working to develop an alternative to this much-valued scheme over the coming year.
Supporting and working with our community groups over the years has been and will continue to be a core part of what Keep Wales Tidy does and we hope that we can continue to work together to deliver our vision of a beautiful Wales cared for and enjoyed by everybody.
In the meantime, as this change takes place, we would like to just say a huge ‘Thank You’ to you for the incredibly work that you continue to do day in day out. The data that you input each time that you go out just shows how much is being achieved. This data is also vital to informing the work that we do as a charity (so please do keep sharing this with us as often as you can).
Our project officers are always on hand to help so please do not hesitate to contact them, and please keep an eye out for our new series of interesting community group webinars.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email us group.funding@keepwalestidy.cymru
