All the information you need to organise a safe event

Thinking about organising a Marine Clean Cymru clean-up? That’s great! Now, it’s time to get planning.

We are still taking precautions to protect ourselves and others and will provide all the advice and support you need safely take part in Marine Clean Cymru 2022.

As always, please make sure wash and sanitise your hands well at the start of your event, before eating or drinking, and at the end.

Of course, part of carrying out a safe clean-up is having the right equipment and making sure what you collect is disposed of properly.

Before your event you should check that a written risk assessment is in place, we’ve provided some templates below.

A safety briefing should be held before the event highlighting the key points of the risk assessment, including the need for good hygiene practice.

We’ve also got advice on how to litter pick safely in coastal areas, on waterways and highways.
