Join the Cardiff Eco-Schools Litter Impact Challenge!

09/01/2026 - 27/02/2026

Cardiff

Litter isn’t just something we see on our streets, it affects our wildlife, communities, rivers and even our own school grounds. That’s why Keep Wales Tidy is inviting all Eco-Schools in Cardiff to take part in a brand-new creative competition celebrating the power of young people’s voices.

We want to hear your story about litter: what you’ve seen, what it’s caused, why it matters, and how you think we can tackle it together.

Tell your story, your way

Every school sees the impact of litter differently. Maybe your local park has become a hotspot, or your sports field is often scattered with rubbish. Perhaps you’ve covered global litter issues in lessons and want to take a stand.

You can share your experience in any format you choose:

  • Blog or written story
  • Vlog or short film
  • Spoken word (recorded)
  • Art, posters or infographics
  • Drama or performance (recorded)
  • Podcasts or digital storytelling
  • Wildlife-focused reports or creative pieces
  • Poetry, comics or animations

Be as imaginative and bold as you like, surprise us!

What we’re looking for

Your entry should explore:

  • The impact of litter — local or global
  • Who or what is affected — wildlife, people, places or your school environment
  • Why it matters
  • Your ideas for change

Most importantly, tell it in your own voice. We want to see genuine stories and creative flair.

Ideas entered into this competition could also be developed and submitted to our Wales-wide competition, Climate Challenge Cymru!
