Wales Climate and Nature Youth Festival

30/06/2022 - 07/07/2022

Concerned about climate? Nutty about nature?

We would like to invite you to in-person workshops across Wales, where small groups of students, from secondary schools across the area, will come together to work through workshops on climate and nature.

To get the most out of workshops, we’re encouraging schools to bring 4-6 students to the event.

Workshops Details – One Planet Picnic

Join us to explore the theme of a One Planet Picnic. We will cover topics such as:

  • Where does your food come from, how much of the world is relied upon to make up our meals and what impact does that have?
  • Become a deforestation detective and explore how you could ensure your food is deforestation free.
  • We will also discover how nature and potentially food can be part of the solution.

Throughout this there will be the opportunity to discuss with peers what has been learnt and develop questions to put to the experts in the panel discussions later in the month.

Workshop Locations

Wrexham – Thursday 30 June, 2022 9.30am-2.30pm

Cardiff – Tuesday 5 July, 2022 9.30am-2.30pm

This month-long programme of engagement with schools, colleges and young people is held in partnership between WWF Cymru, Size of Wales, Wales Youth Climate Ambassadors, Keep Wales Tidy (Eco-Schools), Literature Wales, WCIA, YFC and Urdd Gobaith Cymru.

Catering at the venue is limited to refreshments only but support for the cost of packed lunches is also available.
