Circular Economy Innovation Award

With the environmental cost of production growing, it’s vital we move to a circular economy – where waste is avoided, and existing materials and products are used and reused for as long as possible.

We're looking for groups, schools, and organisations that have created new and innovative ways of reducing, reusing, recycling, and repairing.

About the award

The Circular Economy Innovation Award shines a spotlight on ideas that design out waste and help keep materials for longer.

Nominations could include:

  • Smart product design – creating alternatives to single-use items.
  • Supply chain overhauls.
  • Innovative projects that make recycling easier.
  • Community-led reuse or repair initiatives.

Required information

This category is open to community groups, schools, not-for-profit organisations, businesses, and local authorities.

For the Circular Economy Innovation Award, judges will be looking for the following information:

  • What is the product, project or initiative?
  • What new ideas have been implemented?
  • What has the impact been? How has it changed behaviours?
  • What are the long-term plans?
  • Any details you have about the benefit of the project on the wider community?

Your application should include video and / or photographic evidence.

Submit your nomination

Please complete the form below. Please note, this form does not have a ‘save’ function. You will be able to go back and amend information before submitting your form, but please avoid refreshing your browser.

If it’s easier, you can download a Word version of the form and send it back to us via email or post. Details are provided on the form.

If you can’t put into writing why you’d like to nominate someone for an award, you can also send us a voice note or video nomination. The voice note or video should be no longer than five minutes and must cover all the required information.

Voice notes can be sent via WhatsApp to 07875 662803 or emailed to twa@keepwalestidy.cymru. We do ask that you follow up with some photos to show the positive impact of the individual, group, school or business – again, these can be sent via WhatsApp or email.

Video nominations can be emailed to twa@keepwalestidy.cymru.

Nominations are welcome in English or Welsh.

All nominations must be submitted by 18.00 on Tuesday 30 June. Nominations received after this time will not be considered.
