About the award
We want to hear from community groups who have reduced their reliance on external grant funding by, for example, running successful income generation initiatives, upskilling group members and volunteers or using innovative ways to engage with their communities to ensure financial sustainability and long-term resilience.
Nominations could include:
- Groups who make and sell their own products. For example, homemade compost and charcoal, apple juice from an orchard, or surplus food from an allotment.
- Groups who collect and sell unwanted items, such as scrap metal or clothing that can be reused.
- Groups who charge for training or other services like wreath-making or holiday activity sessions.
- Groups that have upskilled members and volunteers to benefit from new opportunities and improve resilience
- Groups that have run successful fundraising initiatives such as lotteries, membership schemes, crowd-funding campaigns and corporate partnerships.
All examples of income generation and improved resilience are welcome.
