Young Volunteer(s) of the Year Award

This exciting award recognises exceptional young volunteers in Wales.

We want to celebrate under-25s who are passionate about our planet and committed to creating a more sustainable future.

About the award

Judges are keen to hear about young people whose volunteer efforts have made their communities cleaner, greener and healthier.

This award recognises every contribution, no matter how big or small.

Nominations could include:

  • Direct, practical action such as litter picking, tree planting, habitat creation.
  • Raising awareness and educating others. This could mean leading environmental clubs at school, running environmental campaigns, or using social media to highlight environmental issues.
  • Inspiring others through creative projects. Think of using art, music or film to bring environmental issues to life, or writing impactful articles, stories or poems.
  • Championing sustainable practices. This could mean organising reuse or recycling programmes, helping organisations reduce energy or conserve water, or even hosting fundraising events for environmental causes.

Required information

This category is for unpaid under-25s only. You are welcome to nominate an individual or group.

Looking to nominate someone over 25? Please see our Volunteer of the Year category.

For the Young Volunteer of the Year Award judges will be looking for the following information:

  • What environmental activities have been carried out?
  • How frequently?
  • What impact has the work had? For example, the amount of rubbish removed, the food grown or the number of trees planted.
  • How have the activities inspired others to take action?

Your nomination should include video and / or photographic evidence.
