Hedgerow Tea and Crafts at Acton Park

Come find out about the Urban Long Forest project in Wrexham and learn how you can help restore and protect our vital local hedgerows.

We will also be joined by James from the Woodland Classroom for a special session exploring our local green spaces. You’ll get to try some refreshing hedgerow tea, create your own hedgerow crafts, and discover the stories behind Acton Park’s veteran trees as part of The Woodland Trust’s Ancient Tree Inventory.

We’ll be paying special tribute to our very own Tree of the Year 2023, the magnificent 480-year-old Sweet Chestnut!

The Urban Long Forest project is protecting, restoring and celebrating hedgerows and ancient and veteran trees across Wrexham. Through volunteering, training and community events, we’re working with local people to help protect and enhance these important habitats for wildlife and future generations.

Made possible thanks to support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and National Lottery players, the project is delivered in partnership with Coed Cadw, Adult Learning Wales, Llais y Goedwig and local authorities. Together, we are co-designing and delivering a programme of education, training and hands-on conservation action.
