Disclaimers
The methodology and accompanying materials have been developed by Keep Wales Tidy and the data has been made publicly available in accordance with our key principles for development. This has been funded by the Welsh Government.
GLÂN data is collected by trained surveyors following the GLÂN methodology. This involves surveying publicly accessible land, including sites owned by organisations other than the local authority. It excludes sites that pose significant safety risks or are deemed impractical, for example, motorways and remote paths.
Please note that whilst every effort has been made through the site filtering process to exclude land that is not publicly accessible, there may be circumstances where this land has been surveyed.
The data does not replace any existing monitoring or reporting schemes that landowners have in place to ensure compliance with statutory response times.
Due to each survey area being inclusive of surrounding land, this data is not appropriate as evidence for Litter Abatement Orders.
The data is only representative for each local authority at the end of each survey year (by December 31st) once all surveys are completed. Individual survey data should be available within 24-48 hours of survey completion.
Every effort is made to remove identifying information in photos through pixelation to comply with GDPR, including of faces and vehicle registration plates.
All data remains ©Copyright of Keep Wales Tidy.
