New community litter picking hub set up in Torfaen

Share

Zero Waste Torfaen joins the growing number of litter picking hubs opening across Wales.

A new litter picking hub has opened in Zero Waste Torfaen in Cwmbran which allows the general public, community groups and businesses to borrow litter picking equipment to clean up their local area.

Zero Waste Torfaen offers locals all the equipment needed to carry out a safe clean-up and keep their community looking beautiful. This includes litter pickers, hi-vis vests, rubbish bags and hoops.

The litter picking hubs have been set up by Keep Wales Tidy as part of their Caru Cymru initiative. Caru Cymru (a Welsh phrase meaning ‘Love Wales’) is an inclusive movement led by Keep Wales Tidy and local authority partners to eradicate litter and waste.

We’re delighted to become a litter picking hub! Zero Waste Torfaen started as an eco-friendly refill station from the shed at the bottom of my garden and It has expanded into a full on zero waste shop.

We’re trying to make a difference in Torfaen by reducing the amount of single use waste in the county. Lots of people working together to make small changes really does add up to something massive.

If you’d like to make a difference to your community please pop in for eco-friendly food, household refills and to hire litter picking equipment.
