Whether your school is taking its first steps on its Eco-Schools journey or continuing the fantastic work you’ve already started, we’re excited to see what the year ahead will bring.

It’s fantastic to see schools across Wales returning for another exciting year of Eco-Schools action. Schools continue to lead the way in tackling environmental challenges, empowering young people to make real, lasting change in their communities.
With so many opportunities to get involved this year, we’re excited to support schools as they turn ambition into action. Whether you’re just starting out or working towards your next Green Flag milestone, every step makes a difference, and we can’t wait to see what schools achieve in the year ahead.

Last year, 361 Eco-Schools Awards were achieved by schools across Wales, recognising the incredible work being done to put environmental action at the heart of school life.

These awards celebrate schools that are making a real difference and paving the way for environmental excellence.

Get your learners involved

The new school year is also a great time to explore our packed resources page, with activities and ideas to help you bring environmental learning to life.

We also have new free learner workshops coming up, covering topics including waste, sustainable travel and biodiversity. From Reduce. Reuse. Rethink., exploring how we can tackle waste, to Future Travel, where learners can explore sustainable ways of getting to school with experts from the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. We’ll also be bringing habitats to life with Habitat Heroes, inspiring the next generation of nature enthusiasts.
