Hub Manager Support

Welcome to the dedicated Hub Manager support section. This brings together all the information and resources you need to look after a Litter Picking Hub. It covers everything from taking bookings and keeping everyone safe, to promoting your Hub and reporting what’s collected.

Don’t forget to download a copy of the Hub Manager Pack – your handy companion to supplement the information in this section.

How to take bookings

The first thing you need to ask ‘borrowers’ to do is complete a booking form. This will ensure you have:

  1. An agreed date for kit to be picked up and dropped off.
  2. Borrower contact details, so you can chase them if kit isn’t returned.
  3. Confirmation that they have read and understood our guidelines and will follow all instructions.
  4. Confirmation that they will contact the local authority to arrange a litter collection (these contact details are provided in the booking form).

We have templates available in English and Welsh to help make your booking process as easy as possible.

Health and safety

Hub Managers must pass all health and safety information to borrowers. This includes a risk assessment template and example, and our ‘Hub Safety’ guidance document.

The borrower must use this information to create their own risk assessment and give a safety briefing to all participants at the start of their clean-up event. This ensures that all participants are covered by Keep Wales Tidy’s insurance.

All information is available in English and Welsh. Click below to download the documents.

Promote your Hub

By hosting a Hub, you are helping to make your community a cleaner, safer place to live, work and play.

To help you celebrate your amazing work, we’ve created some useful promotional materials, together with a few handy hints and tips.

Promote your Hub

Report your results

One of your responsibilities as Hub Manager is to gather event information from borrowers and submit this using our simple eCount Cymru form. No login is required, you just need to go to the webpage to tell us your Hub name and a few details about the litter pick.

Why do we ask you to report your results?

We need government and businesses to understand the issues communities are facing, and the massive impact volunteers are having across the country.

The best way of demonstrating this is with data – showing exactly how many volunteers are getting involved, how many hours are being dedicated to looking after the environment, and what’s being found on our streets, beaches and in our parks.
