‘Make a Difference’ with Keep Wales Tidy and BBC Radio Wales

We’re teaming up with Radio Wales for a series of litter picking events to help make Wales a greener, safer and cleaner place as part of the BBC’s ‘Make a Difference’ campaign.

Together, we’re encouraging volunteers to join some of BBC Radio Wales’ biggest names at clean-ups in Cardiff, Swansea and Colwyn Bay.

We want to highlight how easy it is to look after where you live by celebrating the growing network of litter picking hubs across Wales.

More than 100 hubs have already been set up as part of Caru Cymru, our new initiative to eradicate litter and waste. They enable budding litter heroes to borrow free equipment to carry out a safe clean-up.

It’s such a great opportunity for BBC Radio Wales to really make a difference by helping out at these events. I know the presenters are raring to go and they’re looking forward to meet some of the volunteers at these clean-ups – some who work hard all year-long to help keep Wales free from litter.

I’m so excited to be helping out at these clean-up events and I know my fellow presenters will be too. It’s amazing to be able to do our bit to help keep Wales tidy. We hope to see you all there!

Be inspired

Throughout September and October, BBC Radio Wales listeners will also have the chance to hear inspiring stories from some of Keep Wales Tidy’s existing volunteers, who work tirelessly to keep their local environment clean.

We’re thrilled to be teaming with BBC Radio Wales on these exciting clean-up events. It’s a fantastic opportunity to shine a spotlight on some of our incredible volunteers and demonstrate just how easy it is to care for where you live. We hope people of all ages will be inspired to join us over the coming weeks. Let’s show our beautiful country some love this autumn.
