Clean Our Air

Whenever we burn something, we create gases and tiny particles that pollute our air. This includes burning fuel in our vehicles, burning fuel in our homes, powering factories and industry, and forest fires.

Not only do these gases significantly contribute to climate change, but they also pose a serious threat to our health.

For this challenge you could consider:

  • Investigating pollution from cars around your school, especially at drop-off and pick-up times.
  • Looking into how renewable energy is made and what type of energy supplies your school and home.
  • 2024 was the first year that renewable sources produced more energy than fossil fuels. Which countries are leading the way with this change.
  • Options to choose clean, green transport, including active travelling
  • Sourcing locally produced food and products to cut down on transport gases
  • What the role of plants is in cleaning our air, both outside and inside.

Submissions for Climate Challenge Cymru 2026 have now closed.
