Borrow free kit and help look after your local area

We’re excited to say that our community litter picking hubs have now reopened across Wales. Individuals, families, community groups and businesses can borrow litter picking equipment for free to clean up their local area.

Our growing network of hubs offer all the equipment you need to carry out a safe clean-up. This includes litter pickers, hi-vis vests, rubbish bags and hoops (essential for keeping your bags open in breezy conditions!). They have been set up as part of our Caru Cymru initiative.

All hubs closed during the first lockdown, but they have recently reopened their doors as restrictions have eased. The number of people making use of the hubs over recent weeks has been astounding, with communities coming together, making use of the free equipment to improve their local areas and tackle  waste.

Every one of us has a part to play. Not only is litter a blight on our local environment, but it has a significant impact on our health, wellbeing, and wildlife too. Pick as you pass by making use of the free collecting equipment available at your local hub. We’ve all missed our favourite places over the last year. It is essential that our communities, green spaces and beaches are kept clean and safe for everyone to enjoy. Together, we can all make a difference.
