Did you know, over 2,000 gardens have been created, transformed and improved since the Local Places for Nature for scheme launched in 2020?
We’re celebrating this milestone by giving away hundreds of new gardens!
Community groups and organisations across Wales can now apply for free, pre-paid garden packages to revitalise unloved areas into thriving gardens.
The packages range from small-scale mini gardens to orchards and large community makeovers. Each one includes native plants, tools, materials, and practical resources to get your project off the ground.
Here’s a quick overview of the free packages available:
We’re encouraging communities to apply early to avoid missing out. Whether you want to grow your own fruit and vegetables, create a peaceful retreat, or boost biodiversity, there’s a garden pack for you.
It’s easy to get involved. Just head to the Local Places for Nature webpage, choose your package, read through the guidance, and complete the online application form, making sure you answer all the questions.
Community groups and organisations of all shapes and sizes can apply. Health charities and youth clubs, sports teams and faith-based organisations have all benefited over recent months.
