Create a 'buzz' in your community

Create a small garden filled with a variety of habitats for wildlife to thrive.

We’ll provide you with all the materials, tool and guidance you’ll need to give the nature ‘on your doorstep’ a helping hand.

The package will include:

  • 80 native wildflower bulbs
  • 30 native plants
  • Four habitat boxes
  • Three shrubs and three climbing plants
  • Peat-free compost
  • Raised bed and trellis
  • Hand tools (fork, spade, secateurs, trowel)
  • Gloves
  • Watering can
  • Garden Wildlife and British Birds handbooks

There will even be a small amount of Keep Wales Tidy project officer support available to help you install your new garden. 

The minimum area required for this package is five square metres. The variety of plants, shrubs and bulbs supplied will depend on the season and availability.

You can now apply for Local Places for Nature online. Register your details to set up an account. Then login, choose the package you’d like, and complete the six steps. Just make sure to answer every question and upload all the required photos and written evidence.

Don’t worry if you can’t complete your application in one go – you can always save your progress and return to it later. Alternatively, you can still fill out a Word version of the form and submit that to the same email address – download the Word version here.
